Several 9/11 memorial events will honor the 25th anniversary.
Marcus High School in Flower Mound hosts a ceremony at 9:11 a.m. Friday and Denton gathers at 8 a.m. at the Central Fire Station (blood drive in Argyle runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
🎓 Education
Lewisville ISD adopted its 2026-2027 tax rate this Monday (the lowest since 1999) as the district faced a $7.3 million deficit from teacher raises and improved benefits.
The state sets the tax rate, so the board has no control over it.
🏈 Sports
Lantana’s annual Run Lantana 5K and 10K race will take place Saturday at 8:20 a.m. at Blanton Elementary School along Stacee Lane — registration is open until Friday at 6 p.m. or on race day starting at 7:15 a.m. for an extra fee and will benefit UP Ministry.
